MEET YOUR HOST
Therapist, Copywriter, & Tarot Lover (she/her)
We’re friends now, so please call me Ari. 👋
I’m a licensed therapist, intuitive copywriter, and a queer, neurodivergent soul who dances daily between the clinical and the creative.
Therapist Chillout was born in 2023 from a desire to connect after the collective rupture and disorientation of the pandemic.
What began as a simple coffee chat has grown into a labor of love—one that continues to evolve in response to the needs of the Colorado therapist community, and is expanding to include any Colorado-based wellness professional or spaceholder who is seeking connection.
From our very first gathering of 6 people in June 2023 (shoutout to the OGs!) to now entering our third season with a full calendar of cozy hangs, creative activities, and special guests—it’s clear this wouldn’t be possible without the power of heart-led community.
What could you accomplish with the right people in your corner?
Maybe you’ll find them here.
What we’re really about about…
-
Less about drive-by networking, more about fostering genuine relationships that support and sustain our careers. Think: people you can call for a consult, ask for out-of-office coverage, brainstorm your next business idea, attend a retreat together, or even form a friendship with.
-
This is a space where we don’t shame each other for our fees, our caseload size (whether it’s overflowing or intentionally small), or our choice of modality. We hold space for complexity. At the same time, we recognize that the field of mental health has been shaped by systems rooted in white supremacy, capitalism, ableism, colonialism, homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia (and so much more). Part of our work—as healers, therapists, and humans—is questioning those foundations and defining for ourselves what liberatory and sustainable practice can look like. -
It’s a space to explore collaborations that uplift, inspire, and make the work feel less lonely and more impactful. Whether you’re co-creating a therapy group, guesting on each other’s podcasts, or just helping amplify each other's voice, we’re here to rise together.
-
We all have those days we question if we are being helpful—or if we should even be in the field. You’re allowed to bring your whole self here: messy days, persistent doubts, and questioning your role in the world. This is a space for honest conversations about what it’s actually like to do this work: the joy, the burnout, the rage, and the breakthroughs.
What To Expect…
Before
Once you RSVP, you’ll receive a confirmation email with venue details, how to find us, and my cell # in case you get lost. Please keep your RSVP updated.
During
I’ll greet you with the enthusiasm of a golden retriever and ask you to sign in. We’ll engage in the event’s designated activity (coffee! food! books! yoga!), then you can connect freely in 1:1 or small group conversations. Leave whenever you need.
After
The magic is in the follow-up. Reach out to people you clicked with and stay in touch. If you stay on the Therapist Chillout email list, you’ll be invited to join future events and deepen the relationship with your Colorado peers.
GET INVOLVED
Want to co-host or lead an event for the Therapist Chillout community? (Or just lend a hand?)
Therapist Chillout exists thanks to generous folks who freely offer their time, energy, and presence—whether it’s welcoming others at events, spreading the word to their network, or sharing their expertise to help therapists grow.
As Therapist Chillout grows, there are many ways to get involved:
– Greet and help facilitate connections at events
– Support with planning or promotion
– Research accessible, sensory-friendly, or family-friendly venues
– Lead a workshop or host a community gathering
– Host in-person gatherings outside the Denver area
I welcome helpers and co-hosts who align with the heart of Therapist Chillout: creating spaces where therapists can connect deeply with one another, and honoring that there’s no one “right way” to be a therapist.
If you’d like to get involved or share your ideas, I’d love to hear from you!
FAQ.
-
C’mon now. This ain’t 2019. Come as you are. Covered in cat hair, sweat, or glitter. Rock your leggings, slacks, or Crocs. We won’t judge.
-
Yes! We welcome therapists and therapist-adjacent professionals, such as bodyworkers, mental health attorneys, functional medicine practitioners, psychiatric nurse prescribers, and others supporting the mental health and healing of Colorado folks. We’d love to have you.
-
Yes, the more the merrier! Please send them this page to register, so I can inform them of any time-sensitive changes and future events.
-
To keep these gatherings locally focused and support seamless cross-referrals, we ask that attendees be licensed in Colorado or able to work with Colorado residents. If you’d like me to consider an exception, feel free to reach out at arianna@ariannasmith.com.
-
Most events are located in person at venues around Denver. However, we do have a virtual event this year for Colorado providers who can’t attend in person or live outside Denver.
Dates and details are sent via email after you register.
-
I can’t guarantee these will continue in 2026, as they depend on both my capacity and the community's needs. If you’re excited about joining this year, I encourage you to make it happen while you can.
-
It depends on the event and venue. Please check the specific event details. I do my best to choose locations where food and beverages are available (because no one wants to network while hangry!), but it’s not always guaranteed.
-
I totally get it. If you’re concerned that your clients—or even your own therapist—might be attending these events, or if you’re navigating dual relationships with other therapists, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to share the sign-up list with you. While it may not be 100% accurate since I can’t always control attendance, it should help you make a more informed decision.
-
Absolutely! I’m all about access, so if you feel comfortable bringing your baby or kiddo, please do. While there won’t be childcare available, you’re welcome to supervise them yourself, bring a partner/friend/family to help out, or set them up at a nearby table with an activity. This is an adult-focused event, so we’ll be discussing topics geared toward grown-ups, but I trust you to decide what works best for you and your child. Past participants have made it work in different ways, and I’m happy to support that flexibility.
