How to RSVP:

Create long-lasting connections…

“Being able to come together with like-minded therapists and reconnect on why our community is so amazing was such a treat. I was able to make some new connections that I know will support me personally and professionally for years to come.”

Lena McCain, MA, LPC

who should join?

You’ll feel right at home if…

You’re a therapist or wellness professional in solo or group private practice—starting out, seasoned, or somewhere in between.

You want to expand your referral network while munching on good food and coffee.

You are doing cool shit beyond 1:1 therapy and wanna talk about it. Courses, coaching, consulting? Hell yes.

You’re here to deeply connect with peers, not do drive-by networking or collect business cards you’ll never look at again.

You believe there’s no one “right way” to be a therapist, and you want a community that reflects that.

Connect on a deeper level…

It was a safe space for like-minded therapists to come together and connect. Introductions included thoughtful question prompts (not the age-old elevator pitch!) so we could get to know each other more deeply. Then, there was the launching pad to freely connect. I will definitely attend one of Ari’s networking events again!”

Sara Haynes, LMFT

Why join?

Reconnect, Relate, Relax

Immerse Yourself in Community

Surround yourself with passionate practice owners. Form long-lasting connections with like-minded colleagues. Commiserate over common struggles.

Let’s hear about your hobbies, interests, struggles, and accomplishments outside of the therapy office. You’re more than the letters behind your name.

Take Off Your Helper Hat

Cultivate support for your next big audacious goal. Gain insight into a current problem in your business. Bounce around ideas in a shame-free environment.

Share and Swap Ideas

Enjoy a friendly, welcoming environment…

“You know how you dread typical networking events because you fear no one is going to talk to you and you'll end up in a corner eating hummus by yourself? Have no fear with Therapist Chillout Events! They’re friendly, welcoming, and truly laid back. I found myself energized and inspired after attending!”

Nanae Ito, LCSW

What Therapist Chillout is really about about…

  • Less about drive-by networking, more about fostering genuine relationships that support and sustain our careers. Think: people you can call for a consult, ask for out-of-office coverage, brainstorm your next business idea, attend a retreat together, or even form a friendship with.

  • This is a space where we don’t shame each other for our fees, our caseload size (whether it’s overflowing or intentionally small), or our choice of modality. We hold space for complexity. At the same time, we recognize that the field of mental health has been shaped by systems rooted in white supremacy, capitalism, ableism, colonialism, homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia (and so much more). Part of our work—as healers, therapists, and humans—is questioning those foundations and defining for ourselves what liberatory and sustainable practice can look like.

  • It’s a space to explore collaborations that uplift, inspire, and make the work feel less lonely and more impactful. Whether you’re co-creating a therapy group, guesting on each other’s podcasts, or just helping amplify each other's voice, we’re here to rise together.

  • We all have those days we question if we are being helpful—or if we should even be in the field. You’re allowed to bring your whole self here: messy days, persistent doubts, and questioning your role in the world. This is a space for honest conversations about what it’s actually like to do this work: the joy, the burnout, the rage, and the breakthroughs.

What’s the story, morning glory?

Therapist Chillout was born in 2022 from a desire to connect after the collective rupture and disorientation of the pandemic.

What began as a simple coffee chat has grown into a labor of love—one that continues to evolve in response to the needs of the Colorado therapist community, and is expanding to include any Colorado-based wellness professional or spaceholder who is seeking connection.

From our very first gathering of 6 people in June 2023 (shoutout to the OGs!) to now entering our third season with a full calendar of cozy hangs, creative activities, and special co-hosts—it’s clear this wouldn’t be possible without the power of community.

What could you accomplish with the right people in your corner?

Maybe you’ll find them here.

What To Expect…

Once you sign up

You’ll be added to the Therapist Chillout email list. This list is solely used to share updates about upcoming events. You can unsubscribe at any time. You’ll receive a link to our Calendar of Events, which includes venue details (as they’re confirmed) and other important info, and where you can RSVP for individual events.

Before the event

Before the event, you’ll get an email with all the details—venue info, how to find us, and my cell number in case you get lost. If you arrive a little late, no worries. Myself and a co-host will be watching for you.

I’ll greet you with the enthusiasm of a golden retriever and ask you to sign in. We’ll engage in the event’s designated activity (coffee! food! books! yoga!), then you can connect freely in 1:1 or small group conversations. Come and go as you need. There’s no pressure to stay the whole time.

After the event

After the event, I’ll send a short feedback survey so you can share your thoughts and help make Therapist Chillout even better. By staying on the Therapist Chillout email list, you’ll be invited to join future events where you can continue to connect with your local therapist community.

“It was so much fun and the least anxiety-inducing networking event I've been to so far! I made several valuable connections, promoted a new group I'm offering, and was thrilled to expand my referral network. I loved how small and intimate it felt.

Lily Duffy, MSW, LSW

“It was so refreshing to get together in person for a low-key, mostly social, networking event! Everyone seemed super nice, bright, and ready to support others with their ideas and friendship.”

Tally Iskovitz, LPC

“These meetups are EASY. It's fun and educational. I really felt a sense of belonging and support.”

Kayla Clark, LPC

“A lovely space to connect with other clinicians, build relationships, and get a sense of what others are doing in their practices.”

Lindsey Boes, LMFT

Meet your host!

Arianna Smith, Counselor + Copywriter

(She/her)

If we haven’t met yet, I’m a therapist by day, a copywriter by night who spends way too much money on plants and tarot decks.

  • As a clinician in private practice, I provide IFS and EMDR therapy to witchy souls, highly sensitive and neurodivergent folks, the LGBTQIA+ community, and those navigating the loss of a beloved pet or animal companion.

  • As a copywriter and email marketer, I help therapists and wellness professionals write words that resonate with their ideal clients, express their heart’s work, and get their big ideas into the world.

  • I offer intuitive Tarot readings for witchy business owners and the woo-curious who want to affirm their intuitive hunches and gain clarity around the best next steps for their life or business.

Identities: I’m a white, queer, neurodivergent, witchy cis woman in a larger body.

The woo: Enneagram 2, INFJ, 5/1 Generator, Big 3: Gemini Sun/Gemini Moon/Libra Rising.

I can’t wait to connect with you—as a human, as a peer.

FAQ.

  • C’mon now. This ain’t 2019. Come as you are. Covered in cat hair, sweat, or glitter. Rock your leggings, slacks, or Crocs. We won’t judge.

  • Yes! We welcome therapists and therapist-adjacent professionals, such as bodyworkers, mental health attorneys, functional medicine practitioners, psychiatric nurse prescribers, and others supporting the mental health and healing of Colorado folks. We’d love to have you.

  • Yes, the more the merrier! Please send them this page to register, so I can inform them of any time-sensitive changes and future events.

  • To keep these gatherings locally focused and support seamless cross-referrals, we ask that attendees be licensed in Colorado or able to work with Colorado residents. If you’d like me to consider an exception, feel free to reach out at arianna@ariannasmith.com.

  • Most events are located in person at venues around Denver. However, we do have a virtual event this year for Colorado providers who can’t attend in person or live outside Denver.

Dates and details are sent via email after you register.

  • I can’t guarantee these will continue in 2026, as they depend on both my capacity and the community's needs. If you’re excited about joining this year, I encourage you to make it happen while you can.

  • It depends on the event and venue. Please check the specific event details. I do my best to choose locations where food and beverages are available (because no one wants to network while hangry!), but it’s not always guaranteed.

  • I totally get it. If you’re concerned that your clients—or even your own therapist—might be attending these events, or if you’re navigating dual relationships with other therapists, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to share the sign-up list with you. While it may not be 100% accurate since I can’t always control attendance, it should help you make a more informed decision.

  • Absolutely! I’m all about access, so if you feel comfortable bringing your baby or kiddo, please do. While there won’t be childcare available, you’re welcome to supervise them yourself, bring a partner/friend/family to help out, or set them up at a nearby table with an activity. This is an adult-focused event, so we’ll be discussing topics geared toward grown-ups, but I trust you to decide what works best for you and your child. Past participants have made it work in different ways, and I’m happy to support that flexibility.

Did I miss something?

GET INVOLVED

Want to co-host or lead an event for the Therapist Chillout community? (Or just lend a hand?)

Therapist Chillout exists thanks to generous folks who freely offer their time, energy, and presence—whether it’s welcoming others at events, spreading the word to their network, or sharing their expertise to help therapists grow.

As Therapist Chillout grows, there are many ways to get involved:
– Greet and help facilitate connections at events
– Support with planning or promotion
– Research accessible, sensory-friendly, or family-friendly venues
– Lead a workshop or host a community gathering
– Host in-person gatherings outside the Denver area

I welcome helpers and co-hosts who align with the heart of Therapist Chillout: creating spaces where therapists can connect deeply with one another, and honoring that there’s no one “right way” to be a therapist.

If you’d like to get involved or share your ideas, I’d love to hear from you!
